How Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor Boosts Pregnancy Rates - 08/30/2007
A fairly recent study published in February’s issue of Fertility and Sterility found that the use of Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor (CEFM) increased the rate of pregnancy in women during the first two cycles compared to women who did not use it. Respectively, the rates of pregnancy were 22.7 percent in women using CEFM and 14.4 percent in the control group. The study consisted of 653 participants who were trying to conceive for up to two years. The participants were assigned randomly to either the CEFM group or the control group.
How does CEFM works? CEFM helps women time intercourse with their menstrual cycle. Timing intercourse often leads to higher chances of conception, particularly if intercourse occurs 5 to 6 days before ovulation. By using CEFM women can detect the LH surge that appears immediately before ovulation, and also the levels of estrone-3-glucoronide, which increases 4 to 8 days before ovulation.
