First Home Fertility Test Kit for Men - 05/31/2007
British scientists from Birmingham University have developed the first home fertility test kit for men available over-the-counter. The fertility test kit is believed to be 95% accurate in predicting the warning signs of a male fertility problem. The test works by forcing sperm to move through a barrier that mimics the female cervix. The number of sperm that swim beyond this barrier are then measured. If a high enough level of active sperm is present in the sample, a red line will indicate a positive fertility test. The test is considered particularly effective since many couples wait to have children later in life, and an at home fertility test can provide one type of fertility testing that is easy, quick, and able to detect male infertility in its earliest stages.
