Q: i've been trying to get pregnant since june 2007 but still no success. i'm 30 years old and i'm so frustrated coz all my friends are either pregnant or have babies already. i've been doing ovulation test so i know i'm ovulating. my cycle is about 32 to 36 days. i already had a progesterone test and i will do another blood test on the 3rd day of my period, then i will have a follow up visit with my gynecologist sometime in feb. i've been reading a lot about infertility and i'm scared that my fallopian tube may be blocked. i don't have any particular question right now, but i think i just need support form other women out there who are in the same situation.

A: Hi liana0814, it sounds to me that you are in step 1 first in finding out why you can't get pregnant. For my experience so far, my period cycle is 33-40days and I was prescribed Clomid, took lowest dose 25mg for 3 months with no success and now for the 4th month of Clomid is 50mg taking on day2-6 of my period. We have been trying for almost 2 years now, I went through a lot of testing, I am all good but maybe just the annovulatory so doctor gave me Clomid to have ovulation every month. I did hycosy where they checked if i have a blocked fallopian tubes and thank God my tubes and uterus are perfect. They have to do this before they prescribe Clomid to make sure there's nothing wrong inside but Clomid-taking only. My specialist said there's no reason for fallopian tubes to be blocked unless you have an abortion or any operation that can cause the scar on the tubes. By the way, I have mild PCOS which can delays pregnancy. Hopefully, clomid can help.

A: What I have learned is when you have irregular period, make sure to see the doctor if you plan for pregnancy. PCOS is always attached with irregular periods according to what I have read on the Internet and my situation. I wish I knew this before and so I could have done all the testing. I waited for a year and decided to get checked.

A: liana0814- my heart goes out to you as I was in the same position not too long ago. I couldn't even bear going to baby showers or seeing baby clothes at a store. I felt my body had betrayed me and would get outraged at news stories about mothers hurting their children. I have a history of unexplained tubal pregnancies. I had one in October, 2005 that was 6 weeks along and almost killed me, literally and figuratively. They had to remove a section of the left tube. Since I had never conceived before, we were also concerned there was an issue with the right one and sure enough it was blocked. My husband and I did IVF and are now the proud parents of 17 month twins. Just hang in there, keep the faith. I was about as down and bitter as one could go. Your circumstance will turn around. :0)

A: Did you go to your doctor and ask them to do a HCG Ultrasound. Its when they stick Dye in your Tubes to see if its blocked or not.
