Couples running off to Edinburg and Scotland to get pregnant - 11/14/2007
According to travel researchers, there has been a rise in the number of couples planning getaways in famous romantic destinations like Edinburgh and Scotland in order to get pregnant. Known as 'Procreation vacations' in the United States, this new type of holiday is slowly getting popular in the United Kingdom these days.
World Travel Market chairman, Fiona Jeffery in a news report said that the stresses, work pressure and all other commitments today have people thinking about starting families much later in life, which decreases the chances of conceiving. Therefore, Jeffery adds, couples who are financially stable and established careers take a romantic break in far off places in order to improve their chances of getting pregnant.
Annette Briley, a midwife believes that there is a link between stress levels and a couple's ability to conceive. However, she also warns couples that placing too much importance on conceiving while on vacation and having a timeline may have its drawbacks as well. It may cause needless stress and worry that may spoil a good romantic vacation.
