Daily Sex Improves Sperm Quality - 10/17/2007
A new study has found that men can enhance the quality of their sperm and increase their partner’s chance of conceiving by having sex daily. David Greening, a fertility specialist at Sydney IVF, tested 42 men who had high levels of genetic damage in their sperm and a history of difficulties conceiving. Tests showed that the men on average had 30.8 percent genetic damage after abstaining from sex for three days compared to the average damage of 12.8 percent after engaging in sex daily for a week. Although the sperm count fell by one-third with regular intercourse. Dr. Greening told the American Society for Reproductive Medicine meeting early this week that he was “convinced that ejaculating more frequently, i.e. daily, improves sperm DNA damage in most men by a decent amount."
